Installing LINUX on a USB Memory Stick
If you are reading this it is because you are utterly fed up with the bullshit that is Windows 10 and are tempted by the lures of LINUX but you are not quite ready to take the plunge and you want to dip your toes in the water to see how it feels.
And why wouldn't you? Windows used to be a good operating system but it has been going downhill steadily since Windows 8 and it would not now be unfair to describe it as the worst heap of pox-ridden putrid excrement ever to be foisted upon a hitherto loyal customer base.
It used to be the case that you were the user and Windows was the product which you used - now Microsoft is the user and YOU are the product and Win-doze is their tool to steal every single piece of data about you which they can.
In short, Windows 10 is little more than spyware.
Perhaps it might not be so bad if it actually functioned as an operating system and ran your software for you but more and more often it locks up machines with unwanted and unnecessary "upgrades" and leaves computers without enough resources to run even the most minimal and basic software.
Windows 10 is four pounds of shite in a two pound bag.
Moving Away From Windows
It is possible that you believe that you are stuck with Win-doze and there is nothing you can do about it but that just isn't true.
One alternative is OSX (pronounced "Oh Ess Ten") and for some people that will work out very well but it is not without its own problems.
Mac hardware is overly expensive and requires quite a large initial investment compared to similar systems which run Win-doze, especially when it is necessary to buy peripheral hardware, which is so over-priced that it is really quite obscene.
As an example of this it is a trivial matter to find a USB connector cable for less than €1 or $1 to connect a USB device to your Win-doze computer.
Not so for a Mac - while it is possible to find a cheap non-Apple product which might work, it is also just as likely that it won't and you will then be obliged to hand over nearly €100 or $100 for a simple cable.
I don't know about you but personally I think this is daylight robbery and Apple is just taking the piss.
One other matter, which doesn't seem to be common knowledge, is that while Apple are building faster and more powerful hardware they are also stuffing it into laptop chassis which have not been upgraded in several years and which are not suitable to hold such hardware - the upshot of which is new Macs are prone to serious overheating and regularly lock up and become unusable.
A much better alternative is to switch to LINUX, which is free, and it is also highly likely that you can run it on your current hardware, which could save you a small fortune.
Trying Out LINUX
It is quite easy to try out LINUX without removing Win-doze and without deleting or destroying any of your files - all you need to do is to "install" it on a USB memory stick and make that memory stick bootable, so that when your computer starts up you will be presented with LINUX as the operating system.
