Portfolio - Acorn Riding Club
This website featured:
- A custom designed logo using a stylised outline of a horse’s made from the letter A
- Translucent text boxes and buttons (a little bit too far ahead of its time)
- A continuous background
I took over this website from the previous webmaster (who was a bit too fond of framesets and black backgrounds) and I completely overhauled the design.
At the time I created this website there wasn’t any way to specify semi-transparent backgrounds, unlike modern CSS which has several methods to define opacity, so this was achieved by using semi-transparent PNG images.
This, like most things, did not work with Internet Explorer, so instead a 2×2 pixel GIF image was used in which half of the pixels were black and the other half transparent and this created the illusion of translucency.
This website no longer exists.
